" No vegetarian/non vegetarian labelling "

I bought 1kg Miso Paste from this website, and received a product with an fssai sticker. The miso paste looked good, but the minute I opened it I realized that it wasn't pure miso (which by itself is 100%vegetarian), it had fish flakes mixed in.

All text on the product was in japanese and there was no way to tell that the product was non vegetarian before opening it, even though (acc to FSSAI) it is the responsibility of the importer to mark it as vegetarian/non vegetarian on the pac
ket. The site also did not specify that the product was non vegetarian on the product page.

When I contacted customer service they agreed that the product was non vegetarian, but I was refused a refund. Even a partial one. They said I would get a discount on a future product (maybe, and no mention of how much of a discount, not to mention I don't want to buy from them again). They asked me to mail them but I never received a reply.

This is a legitimate business and your products will get to you, but since they're so irresponsible I'd advice calling in to make sure your product is vegetarian if that is at all important to you.
